Derrick Rose Unlikely to Return from Injury During 2013 Playoffs Derrick Rose Chicago Bulls If the Chicago Bulls were hoping for good news prior to the start of their first-round playoff matchup against the Brooklyn Nets, they certainly didn't get it. According to ESPN Chicago's Nick Friedell, Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau says that Rose won't play in Game 1 against Brooklyn and is likely out for the remainder of the 2013 NBA playoffs. While the news may not be surprising to the Bulls, there was a glimmer of hope that Rose would be back at some point during the postseason to help Chicago make a run at a seventh NBA championship. Instead, Chicago will be up against Deron Williams and the Nets without the 2011 MVP point guard.
